Weddings at Downham Hall
As a family-run business, we are proud to be able to offer a bespoke, personal service to our couples, where your special day is unique to you. We have created some distinct packages designed to reflect the different ways couples choose to celebrate to make pricing your wedding easier and these can be tailored to fit your vision, whether it’s adding additional guests, hosting a pre-wedding dinner the night before or having a small, intimate ceremony with a large evening celebration.
Every package includes exclusive use of our beautiful Georgian manor house and grounds, along with full support from our dedicated wedding coordinator, who will be there every step of the way to help bring your vision to life. All our packages also include use of our bridal dressing room for preparation, as well as an overnight stay in our luxury bridal suite with complimentary breakfast for the newlyweds.
Traditional Full Day Celebration
This is the ultimate Downham Hall celebration, designed for couples who want to embrace the full wedding day experience, from morning preparations to the final midnight dance.This is our most comprehensive package, ensuring a full day celebration. You will transition elegantly through every phase of the day, from the beautiful ceremony in your chosen room or outside ceremony space, to your grand evening party hosted exclusively in the luxury Marquee.

Twilight Wedding
Perfect for couples who dream of an elegant evening celebration, where the focus is on a beautiful later ceremony, followed by a wonderful party as the sun sets over the Essex countryside. Twilight celebrations follow a more relaxed format to the traditional day celebration. With the day starting at 5 pm, there is no need for a formal seated wedding breakfast, and instead guests will be treated to beautifully crafted canapés followed by deliciousevening food from our 2 AA Rosette awarded kitchen, including our popular buffet or casual options such as stone-baked pizzas or a barbeque.

Intimate “Micro” Wedding
Designed for heartfelt celebrations with your closest family and friends, this package creates a beautiful, intimate wedding where connection and quality are the focus of your special day. You will have the choice of three stunning indoor or outdoor ceremony spaces, followed by a refined wedding breakfast in the elegant De Beauvoir Suite or the light and airy Orangery overlooking spectacular Essex countryside views.

Make the night before as memorable as the day itself. Stay at Downham Hall the evening before your wedding for an intimate celebration with your bridal party. Gather your closest friends for a pamper evening filled with laughter and prosecco, or savor an elegant dinner or afternoon tea together at the North Wing Restaurant. Our charming boutique bedrooms await, and you’ll have early access to the Bridal Dressing Room to settle in without the morning rush. Space permitting, the Orangery can be yours for the evening—your own private sanctuary to enjoy time with your bridal party and calm those pre-wedding jitters; it’s the joyful beginning your wedding day deserves.
